What are rituals??

An action performed on a regular basis with intention and reverence…

Just as we have sacred rituals for Moon phases and Seasonal turns of the wheel like Solstice yet we can create a sacred life by embracing our everyday moments.

What’s something that you find yourself doing all of the time, often mindlessly

Brushing your teeth…

Getting out of bed…

Making your tea or coffee or even just filling up your water bottle can become a ritual act when done with full reverence of intention.

Not simply our habits or routines… although they keep us grounded and focused, they are our shoulds and our musts.

Our ritual acts come from a source of value and respect, for self, for our traditions, for our needs, and when any ritual is done with good intentions then there is nothing to fear.

Setting the intention of stepping into your new day with vibrant energy… mindfully attuning your breath and your vision of how this will play out for you… feeling that vibrancy move through your body and then stepping into your posture for the day with reverence of gratitude to be here…

Brushing your teeth with mindful energy of cleansing your voice, clearing your throat chakra to speak your heart felt truth...

Filling your water bottle with the intention that this water will charge you throughout your day… charge it with your mantra “I am safe, I am here, All is well” so that every sip you feel that energy filling your body up…

“Ritual expands our horizons to aspects of life beyond daily requirements” Rhonda P. Curtis, keeping us conscious and returning us to our purpose, giving our lives deeper meaning.

Society has rituals that we adhere to surrounding things like marriage, births, and house warmings… even football games. Whether we feel aligned with these practices is based upon our values and what drives us… where we’ve come from and our codes of honour passed down to us from our family tribes.

With everyday rituals we are constantly returning our hearts and minds to attune with our soul presence.

Start small… find a small everyday act that you know you do every day

Set an intention… what do you want to cultivate and how do you want to feel?Plan it out… you don’t have to write it all out but play it out in your mind, visualise yourself doing it.

Slow down the moment… you don’t need to rush allow it to unfold naturally and intuitively.

Be compassionate and flexible… if it doesn’t go to plan, you get interrupted or forget don’t beat yourself up… remember it is called a practice for a reason.
