Healing the mother wound can bring you closer to your mother

Healing the mother wound... can bring you closer to your mother...

Often I thought that to delve into the stories of my childhood wounding, the times where I felt pain, abandonment or just not enough for this world as I am... would be detrimental to my relationship with my mother.

I held back from hearing my inner child’s cries... for fear that I would need to protect her by standing up to my own mother...

Protect her by severing ties and walking away...

My mission is to enhance our connection, through this healing journey

I love my mother... she’s taught me so much

I love my mother she has been a mirror for me, reflecting all the parts of herself that went unseen...

To love my mother, I now see her struggles when she was birthed into motherhood and I hold her in compassion

Compassion for everything she had to endure, to birth that part of herself...

I hold her in respect and admiration for her shadows...

Me a young child witnessing the shadows took it all personally, as a misguided sensitive often does...

Mother, I want you to know I don’t blame you, I see your layers of protection that saved you from your own pain.

Mother I honour you, you opened this door for me and I am grateful for you showing me how to stand in my shadows and find comfort in the depths.

I know we have had our pains but I assure you, you are loved, I know I am loved and together we have broken the cycle of pain traveling down.

I hope our ancestors feel the relief of our love held in compassion for each other’s journey here together.
